Understanding the Brain’s Reward System

Nan Li, Ph.D., is the Center’s first Endowed Scholar and is leading the development of dopamine- and calcium-sensitive functional MRI models to improve understanding of reward-related circuits. The reward pathways in the brain play critical roles in neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, addiction, and depression.
